There were a few small problems with the Rev 2 KIM Clone boards that are fixed with tacking on two extra capacitors, and a few minor component changes. Over the holiday weekend I did a lot of experimentation, worked out the problems, laid out a new board and ordered a small number of Rev 3 boards. It’ll be at least two weeks before they’re here and tested. In the mean time, I still have a few of the current Rev 2 boards built and tested. The Rev 3s have no new features, only minor silkscreen changes and two new parts.
Our supply of the SS-30 serial boards had completely run out, so those were ordered too. Again, I have assembled boards in stock but no blanks until the end of the week.
While I’m trying to avoid the temptation of adding yet more products to the already over-crowded web pages, I like the idea of pulling the USB interface logic from the KIM Clone and putting it onto an SS-50 card along with a local clock generator circuit. Ie, a board with a 6850, USB interface (no RS-232) and an on-board clock generator probably with only 1200, 2400, 4800 and 9600 baud. Is there any interest? If so, let me know.
