Another Great VCF MW (Vintage Computer Festival, Mid-West)

My 20 year old son and I drove to/from the show just outside Chicago and it was a lot of fun.  I think they have a more accurate count of people, but this was the largest crowd I’ve seen there and my estimate is over 400 people.  The main display area where Corsham Tech was located was packed most of Saturday, and there were two other rooms.  The auction started at 4 and lasted until a few minutes before 8 PM!  The drive was 14 hours each way, and was generally uneventful except for a really serious accident on the westbound Pennsylvania Turnpike around midnight that caused a one hour delay.  We got back to New Jersey just before 3 AM Monday morning.

Anyway, it was a great show.  Thanks to Jason Timmons and all his friends/volunteers for making it come together.

As usual, I had discounts on many products at the show, and have finally updated the web pages with the sale prices.  Many higher priced items have reduced prices through the end of the month of September, so if you were considering something, please look again at the shop to see the current price.  Sales made over the weekend (before I updated the web pages) will have refunds issued for the difference.

It will be a day or two before orders are shipping again while things get unpacked and put back into their proper place in the lab.

The VCF MW Adventure is About to Start!

The car is loaded with products and personal items, ready for the trek tomorrow morning to Elk Grove Village, IL for VCF MW!  My son is going with me again this year, but this time he’s doing at least some of the driving on the 900 mile trip.

I’m going to mostly off-line until next week, and won’t be shipping any orders until later next week.  Depending on how tired I am Saturday night I might get some photos on-line.  Around 2 PM Sunday we’ll pack and and start the 13 hour drive back to New Jersey.

If anyone reading this will be at the show, please stop by and say hello.

Packing Up for VCF MW

This time next week, I’ll be at VCF Midwest in the midst of a very cool event.  If you are anywhere near Chicago next weekend, try to make it to this event!

In general, I’ll have at least one of all our assembled products but might not have a lot of blank boards.  If there is something you are interested in seeing and possibly buying next weekend, let me know so I’ll be sure to have one along.

This will be the first time a few of our new products will be shown, including the SS-30 USB Serial board and the SS-50 65C02 board.  The KIM Clone will definitely be on display, along with several SS-50 systems.  It’s unlikely I’ll bring any of my real KIM-1 systems; they are getting pretty old and really want to stay home more rather than being bounced around in my car for a long drive.

About 4:30 AM Friday morning my son and I will jump in the car and start to drive to Chicago!  I hope to see many of you there!
