New Product: SS-30 USB Serial Board

For those who wanted a modern serial board for their SS-50 machines, this board is for you!  No need to have a USB-to-RS232 cable anymore; just plug the USB cable into this board and your personal computer.

It supports 1200, 2400, 4800 and 9600 baud directly from the on-board baud rate generator.  The 68B50 is fully software compatible with existing serial boards.

More details can be found on the official page.

FIG-Forth for the 6800 Board

Stephen Pereira, one of our customers, has gotten a good implementation of FIG-Forth running on our 6800 board and made it available for use.  He has a README file that explains how to get it running, and I added a page with some information about the FORTH language for those who haven’t used it before.

Our FIG-Forth page, with the download link at the bottom,

It’s an interesting language that had a large following at one point.  It’s very memory efficient and you constantly build upon what you’ve already developed.

VCF Midwest – Our Next Show

September 15 and 16 are the dates for the VCF MW 2018 show, where Corsham Technologies will be set up again this year.  Last year we missed it because I had recently started a new day job and needed to spend a lot of time trying to get a new product out the door.  This year my work schedule is a bit less intense so I was anxious to head back out to the Chicago area for VCF MW.

This will be the second showing of the KIM Clone board, and I’m working on two SS-50 related products which might be available, or at least prototypes will be running for display.

If you are anywhere near the show, definitely consider visiting.  There is no entrance fee, and it’s a great show.  Not big, but it grows in size every year and there are a lot of good people to talk with.  From a traveler’s perspective, it’s nice having the show in the conference rooms attached to a hotel with show rates, and there is a restaurant right in the building.  And I can always walk the two blocks to get my McDonald’s treats.
