I Am Home!

My wife brought me home from the hospital this afternoon and have spent most of the afternoon napping.  The last few days I have been extremely tired, not doing much except trying to get in short naps between people knocking on my door.

There are a number of emails asking for technical support and those are the highest priority, and I should get the workshop back on-line later today or tomorrow in order to try recreating some of the problems and/or just doing code reviews trying to find issues.

A few orders arrived during the last week which I plan on working on quickly too.

All of this depends on how much energy I have on any particular day.

Got through the Transplant

Just a quick update: the bone marrow transplant went very smoothly last Friday and I’m now in recovery mode, resting comfortably.  The doctors are still expecting my recovery to be another 2+ weeks in the hospital before returning home, then a few weeks of going slow before getting my strength back. I’m walking a few miles every day on this floor of the hospital trying to keep my strength up.

During my stay here I noticed that George Harrison’s song “Here Comes the Sun” gets played a lot over the public address system.  One of the nurses said they play that song every time one of the COVID-19 patients gets released, which is a really nice touch for some of those people who’ve been hospitalized for long periods of time.
