I have begun putting more items for sale on eBay since it has a much larger target audience than my web page does. For those considering buying through eBay, here are some hints/notes:
- Prices are higher since eBay charges a seller fee. My profit margin is thin already, so I add the eBay fees onto the price of the products.
- On eBay the buyer can leave feedback, so you can see what others think of my products and business practices before making a purchase, and you can add feedback after buying anything from me.
- For international customers, shipping charges are set by eBay, not me. If you buy multiple items in multiple purchases, eBay will charge shipping fees per order and I have no control over those fees. Make sure you have everything you want in your shopping cart and place one order rather than several orders.
- If you order directly from my web pages I can generally provide much better international shipping charges than eBay does and can combine orders into a single box, then refund excess shipping charges.
I don’t plan on putting all my products onto eBay, just some that are likely to be more popular.
