eBay sales

I have begun putting more items for sale on eBay since it has a much larger target audience than my web page does.  For those considering buying through eBay, here are some hints/notes:

  • Prices are higher since eBay charges a seller fee.  My profit margin is thin already, so I add the eBay fees onto the price of the products.
  • On eBay the buyer can leave feedback, so you can see what others think of my products and business practices before making a purchase, and you can add feedback after buying anything from me.
  • For international customers, shipping charges are set by eBay, not me.  If you buy multiple items in multiple purchases, eBay will charge shipping fees per order and I have no control over those fees.  Make sure you have everything you want in your shopping cart and place one order rather than several orders.
  • If you order directly from my web pages I can generally provide much better international shipping charges than eBay does and can combine orders into a single box, then refund excess shipping charges.

I don’t plan on putting all my products onto eBay, just some that are likely to be more popular.

I’m Back Home

I was discharged from the hospital Thursday afternoon and have been working to fulfill back orders as quickly as possible.  Several boxes went out Saturday and four more get shipped tomorrow.

VCF MW was this weekend and I really missed not being there, but health issues kept me close to home.  This week we should start seeing pictures and hearing what people saw at the show.

Another Disruption

I miss not being able to report about new products or other fun topics.

My doctor sent me to the emergency room last Wednesday and I’m in a hospital bed while writing this.  For those who want details, my platelet counts keep dropping and I’ve had a lung infection which was getting worse.  The infectious disease team is trying to isolate exactly what I’ve got and how to fight it.

I do have 6800 software project on my to-do list but don’t have a 6800 machine here to work on it   There are disk images with the source code to FLEX, and I’d like to figure out the build process and post instructions so anyone can build it using an existing system.

Maybe a good product would be a single-board system with a 6800, lots of RAM, an ACIA at the same place in memory as SWTPC does, and a parallel interface to add an SD Card System.  Same monitor EPROM as the SS-50 6800 board has.  It would boot Flex from SD card.  Ie, two boards for something that functions like a complete SS-50 system.
